Clay Creations: Celebrating Ganesh Utsav with Creativity

On the occasion of Ganesh Utsav, our students actively participated in the Ganesh idol-making competition. Using clay as their medium, they crafted their own idols with great enthusiasm. The activity proved to be both creative and educational, helping students understand the significance of the festival while learning the art of making eco-friendly clay idols. Their beautifully crafted Ganesh idols reflected their dedication, imagination, and festive spirit.
Shaping Faith, Saving Nature: Our Green Ganesh Utsav
We celebrated Ganesh Chaturthi with a strong emphasis on eco-friendly values and meaningful learning.
As part of the celebration, a short play was enacted by the students, creatively showcasing the harmful effects of using POP idols and the benefits of choosing eco-friendly clay alternatives. The performance helped reinforce the message in an engaging and memorable way.
During the event, teachers further explained the difference between POP and clay idols. Students learned that POP (Plaster of Paris) idols, though easily available and often visually appealing, do not dissolve in water and cause long-lasting pollution in rivers and lakes.
In contrast, clay idols dissolve naturally and do not harm aquatic life. This comparison helped students understand why opting for eco-friendly choices is essential for protecting the environment.
Teachers also highlighted that, instead of playing loud DJ music, singing bhajans creates a peaceful, devotional, and culturally rooted atmosphere. Embracing this message, the students sang soulful bhajans that filled the campus with serenity and festive warmth.
Voices of Green Devotion
Students of Guzder English Medium School visited the Ganesh pandal, spreading eco-awareness through speeches on alternatives to plastic. They also addressed their street community, inspiring neighbours to protect the environment. Their thoughtful messages blended festive spirit with a strong call for a cleaner, greener future.
From Devotion to Duty: Students Organise Road Clean-Up After Visarjan
After the Ganesh Visarjan celebrations, our students and teachers organised a cleanliness drive to clear the litter left on the roads. With great enthusiasm, they cleaned the areas around the school and encouraged others to keep the surroundings clean. The activity promoted responsibility, teamwork and awareness about maintaining cleanliness after festivals.
